Tony Johnson
Tony Johnson
now 50 (but doesn't look it!) has 35 years as a musician and
Singer under his belt. Starting with local bands in his hometown
of Carlisle Tony moved on to London working as a session singer.
After getting the London scene out of his system Tony then
worked abroad for a couple of years. On returning to Britain
he moved the short distance to the north-east joining his
first cabaret act Dave Bassants Musical Time Machine. Later
working for A.I.R. he formed the very successful Bermuda Triangle,
working worldwide. His session work then re-emerged as one
of the most used male voices in Radio and T.V. advertisements.
After a short time in various bands he then
Sang and played guitar for 3 years with the Excellent Linda
Wright and the Wright Foundation. On leaving he started Johnson's'
Babies, one of the north-east's most popular acts it worked
for 4 years, enjoying another year on the road some 6 years
later.
Tony then went
on to form SoulHouse (see image on right), a four-piece harmony
show that emulated the Motown greats such as, the Four Tops,
Temptations, the Miracles, Isley Bros, etc. With stunning
vocals and slick Choreography it worked it's way into the
theatre circuit as part of the successful show "Reach-out".
For the last
four years Tony has been successfully creating several shows
a season for British Holidays UK, in addition to managing
and performing in the bands 'Johnson' and 'Hitsville'.
Tony is
now currently appearing in the hit musical "LONNIE D" which
depicts the life and times of the King of Skiffle, Lonnie
